Good design enables people to connect with objects and spaces. J.Pera Designs employs a unique process for creating visual designs that are rich with striking distinction and integrity. We create and license one-of-a-kind original designs for textile and furnishing applications to be used in living and working place environments.
The Core Principle
Fission is how we describe our core principle, creative process, and brand ethos. Fission reflects a passion for discovering the beauty that occurs between seemingly contrasting ideas coming together. We define fission as a process which creates energy: causing contrasting design components to layer upon each other without loss of identity. J.Pera is about making connections and understanding passages to new discoveries. Each one of our designs represents the formal process of fission and visually displays the action of fission itself.
Jill Zachman is the principal designer of J.Pera Designs. The company originated as a means to connect Jill’s passions for print making and design. Her vision, process, and formal visual explorations inform the direction of the company.
I was employed as a researcher for 20 years as my Ph.D. is in educational research. I look for and become aware of patterns, structures, and relationships in all moments. I became an artist several years ago after a transitional moment looking at the painting titled Hallac i-Mansur by Erol Akyavas at the Istanbul Modern. It was a truly transformative moment for me. The researcher (reason) and the artist (revelation) inside me became joined at that moment. That transcendent moment is when bifurcation became unity. Being part researcher and part artist, my work is fed by the unification of reason and revelation. Research and revelation are layered in the planning and execution of my printmaking experiences.
